Bowl History:
The Sun Bowl began in 1935 and is the second oldest continuously played bowl game. The game was originally played at the El Paso High School Stadium from 1935-1937. In 1938 the game was moved to Kidd Field in El Paso and was held there until 1962. Upon construction of the Sun Bowl Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso in 1963, the game was moved to its current home.
