Bowl History:
The PapaJohns.com Bowl began in 2006 as the Birmingham Bowl and is played at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. The bowl marks the first return of post season college football to Legion Field since the All-American Bowl was canceled after the 1990 game. The PapaJohns.com Bowl matches a team from Conference USA against a representative from the Big East Conference. In the 2006 inaugural game, the University of South Florida (Big East) beat East Carolina (Conference USA) 24-7.
