Bowl History:
The Outback Bowl began as the Hall of Fame Bowl in 1977. From 1977-1985 the game was played at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1986 the game was moved to Tampa Stadium in Tampa, Florida (the stadium would later to be renamed Houlihan's Stadium) and was hosted there until 1998. Since 1999 the game has been held at Raymond James Stadium which is located adjacent to the former Houlihans Stadium.
