Bowl History:
The Las Vegas Bowl was first played in 1992 hosting a win by Bowling Green University over the University of Nevada 35-34. Originally, the bowl hosted the champions of the Big West and Mid-American conferences. Currently, the bowl hosts the champion of the Mountain West Conference against a team from the Pac 10. The bowl has seen a few historic moments including the first ever woman to play in a Division I-A football game (Katie Hnida of New Mexico attempted an extra point against UCLA) and the first ever Division I-A overtime game.
