Bowl History:
The Holiday Bowl began in 1978 with a Navy win over Bringham Young University 23-16. Initially, the bowl hosted the Western Athletic Conference champion against an at-large opponent. BYU, as the WAC champion, played in the first 7 Holiday Bowls and has played in 11 overall. Currently, the Holiday Bowl hosts the second place Pac-10 team and the third place Big 12 team.
